Dr Gus Jeans has pursued applied research and promoted fruitful collaboration throughout his career, at the interface between industry and academia. His publication record reflects his drive to publish client approved extracts from innovative projects. His efforts have allowed some valuable datasets to be explored in more detail than usual for a commercial environment. The creation of Oceanalysis has enabled renewed activity in some areas of applied research.
